Your data is associated with a device identifier, a UUID generated when you first open the app and stored on your device. Our servers store a hashed version of this identifier alongside your data. If you reinstall the app, a new identifier is generated.
If you choose to sync with Apple ID, we receive an anonymous identifier from Apple and, if you choose to share it, your email address. This links your data to your Apple ID for cross-device backup and restore. Your Apple ID credentials are never stored on our servers. Authentication is handled entirely by Apple.
We do not ask for your name or password. The device identifier or Apple ID link is the only way your data is associated with you on our servers.
The financial data you choose to enter includes expense names, amounts, and dates; category names and budget amounts; and spending limits.
Your financial data is stored on secure encrypted servers and associated with your device identifier or Apple ID if syncing is enabled. We do not store your name or other directly identifying information.
Our application servers and database are hosted in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your data is transferred to and stored in the US when you use Reign.
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising purposes. We use Sentry for error monitoring and PostHog for product analytics. Both process data strictly on our behalf and do not receive your financial data.
Sentry is used for error monitoring. Error reports include technical information about crashes such as stack traces, device model, OS version, and app version. They do not include your financial data or any account identifier as part of error event properties.
PostHog is used for product analytics to help us improve the app. Analytics events record the type of action taken, for example when an expense is added, and do not include your financial data or any account identifier as part of event properties.
You can delete all your data instantly from within the app at any time. One tap permanently and immediately removes all your financial data from our servers. If you are synced with Apple ID, this removes your data from all linked devices. This action is irreversible.
Your data persists on our servers as long as your device identifier remains active or your Apple ID remains linked.
If you uninstall the app without first using the in-app delete option, your device identifier is regenerated on reinstall. This means your previous data becomes unreachable from your new install. We recommend using the in-app delete option before uninstalling to ensure your data is permanently removed.
Reign is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data through our app, please contact us at support@reign.money.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this policy.
